555 – Solar Express

image

Chris Farstad, one of the members of the Minneapolis pulse-kraut collective Food Pyramid, gives us a slab of synthesizer analgesic bliss via his 555 project with one of the chillest cassettes released this year via the always solid Moon Glyph label. Through the means of quasi-scientific analysis not unlike the unfamous Jürgen Müller project. De-krautrockized, these prog electronic pieces sound like the classic approach of the German pioneers was seen through the micoscope, elegantly portioned into a non-invasive yet evocative analog/digital soundscapes (whichever type of gear does Mr Farstad use, it’s top-notch quality) which pulse away with Clusterian ease. Recommended. Remember to buy the tape from Moon Glyph if you like the streaming sounds.
