Too Deep – Too DeepPosted: November 17, 2013
Is it possible to go too deep with 90’s nostalgia? Probably not. Oakland’s Chris Danko and Joseph Volmer have attempted something completely different after a plethora of their other projects (Religious Girls, Party Trash, Police Academy 6, Witowmaker, Clearing, and so on…) and went with a distinctly UK garage, 2-step sound on their newest collaboration, Too Deep. It’s busting with old-school pre-dubstep era beats and alluring samples the self-titled album feels like a time machine to some 15 years ago when the genre was still emerging from the underground. It’s like 1998 all over again.
